MiChart/MCIT Quality Assurance Manager
At the University of Michigan Health System, our use of state-of-the art technology is a prime example of The Michigan Difference. Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) is seeking an experienced manager for their Quality Assurance team. This position focuses on managing key functions for MCIT and the MiChart (Epic) project. This role will manage all testing and Quality Assurance functions including unit, functional, and integrated testing for all live modules and upcoming implementation of the MiChart (Epic) modules.
Team Management for all applications
-Understand, develop and implement plans to achieve the Quality Assurance organization's goals and objectives.
-Develop and implement Quality Assurance best practices and the ongoing / continuous improvement and enforcement of such implementation.
-Establish, monitor and maintain procedures for providing reliable estimates of QA hours for projects
-Planning, scheduling and coordinating the QA of multiple projects and releases with a variety of timelines
Team resource management and development for all applications
-Ensure projects are resourced properly throughout the testing phases.
-Manage the Quality Assurance resource team and the workload to develop and maintain a positive team environment.
-Conduct performance reviews for Quality Assurance team members.
-Provide guidance and assistance for training, advancement, skill identification and other areas of personal development for Quality Assurance resources.
Customer support for all applications
-Provide Executive Director and other IT management with timely status updates for Quality Assurance activities.
-Exhibit leadership, sound judgment and decisiveness
-Take a proactive approach to day to day management
-Recognize important issues and to operate with a sense of urgency as appropriate.
-Manage time effectively to perform multiple tasks within an established time frame with accuracy and efficiency
-Be aware of new technology and industry trends and to advocate their usage whenever appropriate.
-Document Test Strategy for all Capital initiatives.
-Document detailed test plans for enhancement and capital projects
-Work with vendors and or other outside parties.
-Develop Business plans for Quality Assurance
-Developed MCIT Quality Assurance future proposal(s).
-Determine the tools and utilities most applicable to the testing environment.
-Able to construct comprehensive test plans and impart confidence that a product optimally fulfills requirements.
-Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of testing tools (e.g., automated testing tools)
-Establish and improve best practices and standards for testing processes, procedures, and documentation
-Prepare evaluations of software and hardware, submit recommendations to management for review
-Ensure overall deliverable quality by monitoring project progress and providing direction regarding compliance of quality standards
-Responsible for the integrity of test plans, data, environment, etc., as well as coordination with supporting areas
-5-7 year's experience managing/leading an IT QA environment/team/department
-Experience with implementing automation techniques to software testing
-Understands and applies the concepts of unit, system, regression, integration, functional and acceptance testing.
-Understanding of the tools, techniques, and practices used in testing applications and hardware.
-Understands test data integration concepts
-Able to research new products.
-Understands quality assurance, testing concepts, and methodologies.
-Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.
-Knowledge of the following applications: CareLink and all interfaces (LIS,RIS,Worx,PM), OTIS, CVIS, Careweb/CDR complex, PM, Datagate migration to WBI, MiChart and all interfaces.
-Project and management experience using the Mercury Testing Tool Suite (HP)
-EMR (Epic or Cerner) implementation experience
-5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in directing resources is preferred
-Knowledge of healthcare information technology directions and trends
-Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
-Knowledge of MCIT or UMHS processes a plus.
