The Ganesh lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for molecular genetic research work. My lab is investigating the role of newly discovered genes for vascular diseases at a molecular and functional level. The lab is half computational, conducting DNA sequencing and RNA expression studies. The other half of the lab conducts wet lab research focused on functional and mechanistic experiments of specific gene targets. Specifically, we are interested in the role of various genes and pathways in adverse vascular remodeling leading to common cardiovascular diseases. We also use animal models of vascular injury.
Candidates should have publications in a similarly related field and demonstrated expertise in standard molecular laboratory assays. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in both human genetics and functional biology investigation and how the two are integrated in disease-oriented research.
M.D. or Ph.D. required. Basic science discipline preferred, such as molecular biology, cell biology, or vascular biology. Candidates with a computational skills are also encouraged to apply.
