Job Summary

The University of Michigan Library, one of the largest academic research libraries in the world, leads the re-imagining of the research library in the digital era. Our seminal role in building digital library systems enabled the creation of HathiTrust, one of the world?s biggest digital libraries with over 90 partner institutions and over 11 million digitized books. Library Information Technology (LIT) is the technology core of the U-M Library. We build tools to help researchers find information in a vast array of online resources, and we built the systems and processes that underlie HathiTrust. The Library Systems Office, a part of LIT, develops and manages systems and resources that support organization and discovery of resources, traditional library services (including book circulation and collection management), and a variety of other systems and functions that depend on bibliographic and descriptive metadata.

This is a two year term-limited appointment with the possibility of extension.
